What Does Christmas and The Holiday Season Mean to You?

Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, marks the beginning of the Holiday Season. What does this mean? For some it can have religious meaning as the birth of a savior, while for others of the Jewish faith it can represent Hanukah or the “Festival of the Lights.” For those of African descent it can represent the holiday of Kwanza that celebrates their heritage.

There are those that see this season as a time of giving and receiving gifts. While others are turned off by the sheer commercialization of the season, others revel in the feelings that gift giving can provide them. What does the Holiday Season mean to you?

It's Never Too Late

When Nancy overheard her 5 year old daughter Shelby being asked what she 'wants to be when she grew up' she paused to listen to her daughter's lengthy response. She knew the litany by heart. Shelby wanted to be a rock star, a firefighter, a doctor, a vet, and a writer when she grew up. When the asker responded that she couldn't possibly be all of those things, Nancy laughed. She'd had similar conversations with her daughter and they'd worked it all out. Shelby could be anything she truly desired throughout her life. Nancy did not want to pigeon-hole her into any one profession, because she knew that what one desires at 15, 25, 35, and 55 years of age, are typically not the same thing.

Getting in Sync

Can you feel the power that is brewing? It is the power from within that is waiting to be organized, so that you can manifest all that you truly desire when it is unleashed. Since we know that it is when one's desire, belief, and self-esteem, the core of success, comes into alignment that anything is possible. And I do mean anything.

Are you in alignment? If not don't fret. According to Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen, the co-authors of "The One Minute Millionaire", they state that "this process of alignment doesn't happen all at once. Sometimes it takes years. Other times it takes a near-death experience or some other 'close call' to suddenly force you to wake up and get your act together. When you don't have any other choice ... when it's a matter of survival ... you usually figure things out". Have you learned this first hand? Isn't it amazing that when push comes to shove many things just seem to fit together like the pieces of a puzzle?

You Can Let Time Stop Managing You

Do you often wonder where your day has gone? Does your "To Do" list frequently have as many or MORE items on it at the end of the day than it did at the start? Do you feel overwhelmed and stress is becoming a familiar companion? If this sounds like you recently, putting some time management techniques to use should help alleviate the load.

Where to begin? First, start by examining all of the components of your life and determine how important it is to you that each task or project be completed. This question alone can be very empowering and definitely very enlightening. What would be the impact if the task were not done at all? Is the task something that really needs to be done, or is it something that you feel should be done? Shoulds are a big No-No; they just get in the way of important things. If you decide that it is not very important that you get it done, I guarantee that you have uncovered a personal "Ah-Ha" and probably stumbled over a main road block. If it's something that you can let go of, by all means do that. If per chance you feel that you can't just eliminate the "should task" from your list all together, what if you set it aside to check in on at a later date? Shelving it for a while may be just what you need to take the step to eliminate it totally.
